Fuck you, Marlow. You are not putting this off on me. There are plenty of other people to talk to if you were going through problems. Getting shit faced drunk, stripping naked, and opening your legs to the next available guy is actually not a solution to your problems. In fact, it’s going to bring nothing but more problems. I hope you’re pleased with yourself. You’re fifteen and you barely remember your first time, the one thing that you can hold dear to you until you find the rightguy, you drunkenly gave of to some asshole you barely know, and the worst part is you don’t remember it. Congratulations. He’s not caring, he’s an asshole. A disgusting pig. He stayed because he knows next time he wants a little tail, you’ll open right back up for him. You’re available and that’s why he wants you. You’re fucking up your life. What happened to the Marlow I knew? The one who made all the right choices and wasn’t falling face first into some fantasy land where all teenage boys are the fucking Prince of England and the two of you will ride off into the sunset singing of good tidings and throwing rice as you live happily ever after.
… I’m sixteen. I turned sixteen while we weren’t speaking. But yeah, I guess you’re right. I’m a naive teenage girl and I’ve learned that. But I have to take a risk on this, I guess. You should know better than anyone else on that topic. Okay, then.
“Uh… yes?…” he replied, swallowing. He didn’t know what emotions he was harboring at this time… He wondered if perhaps the two of them had gone too far, but somehow, he liked this side of Marlow that he’d never seen before. As she provocatively moved her hand across the front of her breasts, Jared raised his eyebrows and swallowed hard once again. “You’re probably right but perhaps me just noticing them will…uh… suffice for today,” he replied, quickly bringing his hand up to the back of his head to rub at his neck and run his palm over the short hairs on the nape of his neck. He couldn’t deny his mind and almost overbearing sexual desires that being a guy in general brought him, but… This was Marbles. His mittened kitten.. He wasn’t sure in that moment if making a move would be the right thing. He didn’t want anything ruining their friendship in the long run in case things didn’t work out.
He was reluctant to change the subject, quickly falling into a teasing manner with Marlow without so much pressure on his chest to “make the right choice”. “I don’t know how they let me in either! Apparently they don’t do quite as well on background checks as they like us all to believe!” He smirked wickedly at his own words. “Well we are spending time together, and although we did lose some time, I’m sure we’ll be able to catch up in no time at all with the amount of hanging out we’ll be doing,” he told her softly, ensuring that genuineness reached his smile and his eyes. Jared was taken aback slightly when Marlow flung herself up to him, pressing her small cool lips against his own. His eyes shot open in surprise, quickly wrapping his arms around her to save her from falling off of the couch. He hadn’t realized it until she was pulling away slightly but she had really just done that and he had closed his eyes and kissed her back. Hearts beating rapidly, Jared kept his eyes closed but raised his eyebrows as if to say “wow”. “Well that was certainly unexpected,” he muttered softly into her lips as she pulled away slightly but kept her face a only an inch away from his own. Pressing his forehead against hers and his eyebrows knitting together lightly, he let out a soft laugh. “That’s probably the first time I wasn’t expecting something like that… and I’m a mind reader,” he laughed at himself.
She felt his hand snake their way behind her back as she continued, feeling safe in the fact that he had her. It didn’t feel right to her at first. This was Jared, her Jare-bear, the person who she trusted to protect, not kiss her, and for the most part, it was her doing that. She lowly lost her grip on what she was doing until the feeling of his lips cooperating with hers sunk in and brought her right back. Her mind was racing about what was going on, what they were doing, why she even thought of doing it in the first place, and most importantly, why did she do it. Nothing was set up to actually be doing this, except for the tease-flirting they had done, but they both knew that it was the standard with them. What made it so she had to pounce? She heard him mutter something as they pulled away ever so slightly. Pursing her lips as to hold herself back from doing it again, she felt the blood rush to her cheeks, a wave of embarrassment washing over her. With their foreheads pressed together and Jared remark, a small smile came to her redden face before she realized what that action could have caused. She whispered, quickly to get her point across, embarrassed that it happened and unsure of what to do about it. “I am so sorry. I-I don’t know what overtook me to do such a thing. I just… just… I don’t know. You were there a-and I was… I’m sorry.” Stammering her way through an apology, she realized she probably should be getting out of his grasp, but his arms were still wrapped around her to prevent her from falling and, at this, moment, escaping.
